Health Assessments

Preventive care is one of the most effective ways to maintain long-term wellbeing. At Asquith Doctors, experienced general practitioners (GPs) provide comprehensive health assessments for adults, seniors, and people living with ongoing medical conditions.

These structured consultations allow your GP to identify risk factors early, monitor existing conditions, and develop personalised health plans that promote lasting wellness.

What is a health assessment?

A health assessment is an extended consultation that provides a complete review of your physical, mental, and lifestyle health. It is particularly useful for patients who want a clear overview of their health or for those managing chronic conditions.

Health assessments are especially recommended for:

  • Adults aged 45–49 years with risk factors for chronic disease
  • Adults aged 75 years and older
  • Patients with multiple or complex medical conditions
  • New patients establishing a baseline health record

During your assessment, your Asquith GP may review:

  • Medical and family history
  • Blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels
  • Weight and body-mass index
  • Diet, physical activity, alcohol use and smoking
  • Mental health and cognitive function (for seniors)
  • Medications and any side effects

This information helps your GP identify risks early and develop strategies for prevention or management.

Health Assessment

What to expect during your health assessment appointment

Health assessments at Asquith Doctors typically include two steps. First, a practice nurse collects preliminary information, including vital signs and pathology samples if required. Then, your GP reviews the results, performs an examination, and discusses any findings in detail.

Together, you and your GP can create a tailored health plan that may include lifestyle recommendations, referrals to allied health professionals, or additional screening tests.

Many patients use this appointment as an opportunity to ask broader questions about their wellbeing, including diet, stress, sleep, or physical activity. Your GP will also ensure your vaccinations and preventive screenings are up to date.
